Do churches and other nonprofit organizations qualify for this program?
No. The Audit Request Form and Audit Program are only open to county and local governments and K-12 schools including parochial schools.
Am I required to implement the measures recommended in the audit to receive the audit incentive?
No. You will receive the audit incentive for simply completing the audit. You are not required to implement the recommended measures. However, we anticipate the implementation of the recommended measures from the audit may help you conserve energy and save money.
Are private colleges and universities eligible for the audit incentive?
No. Our Act 129 approved plan only covers county, local government and K-12 schools for the audit incentives. However, colleges and universities in FirstEnergy service territories may be eligible for other equipment incentive programs.
I have worked with an auditor in the past and would like to use the same consultant again. Will I qualify for an audit incentive even if my auditor is not on the Auditor and Technical Assistance Provider (ATAP) list?
Yes. Participants may choose to work with any audit provider they wish, even if that auditor is not on the ATAP list. If the audit service provider you choose would like to be added to the ATAP list, please refer them to the program website for RFQ document and details.
My organization has multiple buildings on the same site. Can I receive an incentive for each building?
Yes. Audit incentives are a flat rate of $2,000 per building and eligible participants may receive $2,000 for each building. Please submit one application for each building for which you are requesting an audit incentive.
My organization's internal staff is performing energy audits of our facilities. Can we receive audit incentives?
No. Audit incentives will not offset energy audits performed by your organization's internal staff. The audits must be performed by an outside firm to qualify for incentives.
