County and Local Governments and Schools that are retail customersof FirstEnergy’s Pennsylvania utility operating companies – Met-Ed, Penelec and Penn Power – can now take advantage of the Audit program, which offers incentives to encourage the implementation of audits of their facilities to identify energy-saving projects that can be supported by other FirstEnergy programs. Costs to implement the program are recovered from FirstEnergy’s commercial and industrial customers in Pennsylvania in accordance with Act 129 of 2008.

Eligible entities for the Audit program include, but are not limited to, county office buildings, municipal office
buildings, school facilities, and municipal garages.

Eligible participants may receive up to $2,000 per audit. Once an audit is complete, the participant must submit a copy of the audit report to the program manager, along with an invoice showing payment for the audit. Customers may review program information and download applications to receive incentives for qualifying measures as described in the program’s application form.

To qualify, equipment must have been purchased on or after October 28, 2009. Federal facilities can take
advantage of a different program.
