Eligible Projects
Custom projects include technologies and/or customer specific energy projects that do not meet the eligibility criteria for other FirstEnergy Business programs. To qualify for custom incentives, project must have a TRC Test Score of one or greater. This score will be determined by using the Project TRC Calculator Tool.
Project TRC Calculator Tool
The TRC Calculator Tool, to be used in conjunction with the application form, is now available by clicking the link above. This tool is best viewed with Java version 6 or higher (free Java updates are available). Please enter your project data in the tool as instructed, and record the resulting score and Project Number for EnergySave PA Staff Use on your application. You may also print and scan the results, and attach it with your electronic submission , if desired. If you have questions about the TRC tool, please contact a program representative at energysavePA@saic.com.

- Upgrade of an existing industrial process
- New construction or renovation projects that involve multiple building systems (i.e. lighting, HVAC, and building envelope)
- Replacement of existing motors larger than 200hp
- Replacement of an existing motor speed control for a new Variable Speed Drive
- Water/wastewater system improvements
- Economizers
- Building control systems such as Demand Control Ventilation or Exhaust Air Heat Recovery
- Power Factor correction devices
- Motor soft starts
- Renewable energy technologies that generate electricity (i.e. solar photovoltaic, wind generation, micro-hydroturbines, etc)
- Any electric generation projects
- Fuel Switching (i.e. replacement of an electric chiller with an absorption chiller)
